CS2 has solid Linux performance through Proton (Wine). Software cheats break under Wine because Windows-specific syscalls don't translate. DMA bypasses this entirely — it reads memory off the PCIe bus, not through the OS.
Linux + DMA setup
Debian / Arch / Pop!_OS with Proton 9 running CS2 → Captain DMA card in PCIe slot → second PC runs cheat client (we ship Windows and Linux clients). Tested on Z790 + Pop!_OS 24.04.
- Linux gaming PC fully supported
- Proton 9 confirmed compatible
- Cheat client PC #2 runs Linux or Windows
- FACEIT AC on Linux runs in the Proton sandbox — no extra detection vector
Why this matters
Linux players have been locked out of cheating for years. DMA is the only architecture that doesn't care about the host OS. Read CS2 memory, period.
